Virtual Shopping Mall

Online Shopping Mall
Shopping online is becoming more and more common. Younger generations, having not known what it was like to grow up without a home computer, make up a growing number of consumers who shop via the
internet. I can't say I blame them. First of all, you don't have to look for a parking space, except for parking yourself in front of your monitor with your favourite beverage. Second, you can shop at your convenience,  since the internet is open 24hrs a day. Third, you have no crowds to deal with. The most important thing is that you can find exactly what you want in less time because instead of you going to the stores, you bring the stores to you. That's why I have put together a directory of some of the best online stores for your browsing pleasure.

Whatever you are in the market for, you name it and it's got it. Need wedding invitations? It's got it. How about skateboards? Got it. Dog apparel? Got it. Looking for name brands like Disney, Marvel and Atari. Got that too. Here is a partial selection of what other products you will find:

  • T-shirts (customize them directly online)
  • Embroidered apparel (hats, polo shirts, hoodies, jackets, tote bags)
  • Keds shoes (Hi Tops, slip-ons, etc.)
  • Business cards ( 3 different sizes)
  • Bumper stickers (11" x 3")
  • Stationary (5.5" x 8.5" basic, felt, speckled, linen, recycled)
  • Letterhead (8.5" x 11")
  • Postage Stamps (U.S. only)
  • Mugs (basic, ringer, two-tone, morphing, travel, stein, frosted)
  • Greeting cards (envelopes included)
  • Note cards (envelopes included, free boxed sets for orders of 10 or more)
  • Photo cards (4"x8", 8"x4", envelopes included)

William Shatner for Governor General of Canada

4amdesign seems to be campaigning for William Shatner to become Canada's next Governor General, with these t-shirt designs.

You might have read or heard recently that there was a growing movement to get Shatner appointed to the position. There's even a Facebook page dedicated to the topic. I have no doubt that most of the supporters behind this idea are Star Trek fans, mainly the hard core ones known as Trekkies or Trekkers. Whatever the case, it's all in good fun.

Should Shatner ever choose to accept the position, he would become Canada's most famous Governor General since Frederick Arthur Stanley (Lord Stanley of Preston), as in Stanley Cup fame.

What do you think? Should Captain Kirk accept the promotion to (Governor) General?

Never Fear. Video Man is Here!

This is a logo I designed for a contest for an online video company whose initials were MV. I didn't win the contest, nor the substantial cash prize that was awarded. However, I was reminded of the saying, "when life gives you lemons, make lemonade."

I tinkered with different ideas of how I could make use of the MV logo. As always, whenever I have a logo lying around doing nothing, I like to throw it on a t-shirt for sale to make a little extra cash. I brainstormed words that began with those initials but I never really came up with anything I liked. It then dawned on me that the letters in the logo were interchangeable and that the V could just as easily lead off the name.

When I originally thought up the concept for the contest, I wanted to incorporate the initials to look like three video control buttons you might see for an online video player. Obviously, these buttons' functions are purposely vague. Their real function is to morph into the MV letters. Long after losing the contest, I realized it could be VM.

Sticking with the video theme, I came up with the name Video Man. Immediately, an image of a superhero sprang to mind.

Narrator voice: "Able to view movie marathons in one sitting. Stronger than the toughest movie critic. It's video Man!"

I thought maybe his secret identity could be a video store clerk. Heck, Video Man could even be the name of the video store itself. He could then be the official mascot of the company.

What do you think? Do you see a movie franchise in Video Man's future, as Spider-Man and Batman have done?

Hockey Blades on Myspace

Copyright (c) 2010 BLADES
The skate with the sharp shape is now on Myspace. Hockey BLADES now has its own account at the social network to help spread the word to the hockey world.

The new site allows hockey coaches, managers, team owners, schools and even fantasy players to adopt the BLADES hockey skate logo as their own. Visitors can do this by choosing customizable jerseys, t-shirts, embroidered caps, etc. and adding a location, school name or fantasy name to the logo. This enables you to have your very own, non exclusive, official team merchandise.

To get your merchandise in time for the next hockey season, visit Hockey BLADES on Myspace, today.

What jersey colours would you like to see added? Do you have an idea for a BLADES theme? Want the logo in your country's or school colours? Post your ideas below in the comments.

Wordans V3 : New and Improved

Yesterday, Wordans, a print-on-demand company, launched version 3 of their website with an updated layout and many improvements to their features. An example of one of the improvements is their claim that the T-Shirt Designer is now faster and easier to use. I'll let you be the judge of that.

They also claim that they have a new shop system with changes that shop owners have been waiting for. I rarely use my shop at Wordans so I wouldn't know what would have changed. Can any veteran Wordans users out there tell me if you like the new changes or not? What is new with the shop features? Is the Designer really faster and easier to use? Leave a comment and let me know.

Blog Renovations

Please excuse the mess. I am currently renovating this blog and trying out new layouts, backgrounds and colour schemes. For a while, I've been thinking of converting the layout of this blog from two columns to three. I think I'll be able to organize things better and have a cleaner look and easier navigation. Because of this, you will notice in some of the posts that certain widgets  that were originally created for a wider configuration, now overlap into the right hand sidebar. Please bare with me as I intend on rectifying that whenever I get a chance.

In the meantime, thank you for your patience and thank you for your continued visits.

New Website for Caza Creations @ webs.com

Over the last few years, I've been using this blog as my main source for outside advertising of my POD stores and design services. In absence of a proper website, it served me well for what it was worth.

However, it is time for a change and a step in a new direction. I would like to introduce my new website, which from now on will be my main site. The site name is still the same, just the address has changed.

To visit my new website go to Caza Creations @ webs.com

In addition to what this blog offers, I now have a Forum, a FAQ page, two chat rooms, arcade, and event calendar which I will eventually get around to filling with actual events, once I think of some.

I still have quite a bit of tinkering to do but it will do for now. Looking forward to adding Zazzle and T-Shirt Monster affiliates to the link page. Let me know if you are interested in having yours linked. Leave me comment on this post and I will consider adding your store.I can't promise it will be added but I will take a look. Thanks.

Associate Art Exhibit: Retropolis Travel Bureau

The purpose of this post is to exhibit an associate designer's work that I admire. I hope you take pleasure in discovering the various works of art and products  that you see here.

Visit The World of Tomorrow
RETROPOLIS TRAVEL BUREAU

Visit the Future That Never Was

The style of this artist's work is reminiscent of 1940's and 1950's sci-fi movies and serials, hence the "retro" part of the gallery name. When you browse through the gallery, it's easy to see where some of the influences might have come from. Movies such as War of the Worlds, Mars Attacks, Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon immediately come to mind.

The fact that you can also personalize this stunning art adds to the allure of owning one of these products. It is certainly a treat for the eyes.

Wordans Website Re-Design

Wordans : Wordans Banner

Speaking of website re-design (see previous post), Wordans.com has gone through its own renovations and unveiled a new look. It's much more easier to navigate and has a clean and organized look. They've also introduced a new affiliate program. In addition, store owners or boutiques as they call them, have much more flexibility in customizing the appearance of their online shops.

As is the case with T-Shirt Monster, Wordans is a Canadian website. It is based in Montreal.

I actually opened a store at Wordans quite a few months ago but I haven't really done anything with it. Something that prevents me from doing more with the site is the fact that Wordans requires exclusivity when you post your designs to its site. In other words, if you upload any of your original designs on Wordans, you cannot have those designs posted simultaneously at another online t-shirt site. That kind of turns me off to the site.

However, if you are just looking to do some shopping of their large marketplace, feel free to click on the banners to check out the enormous selection of t-shirt designs.

T-Shirt Monster Website Getting Makeover

One of the websites I use to sell print-on-demand apparel is in the planning stages of a site re-design and is asking visitors for feedback. In case you couldn't tell by the mini banner above, the website is T-Shirt Monster.

T-Shirt Monster is still relatively new to the POD world, so it has a ways to go before catching up to the big boys. That's why they are asking for your suggestions on how they can improve the site. If you have some great ideas that you would like to see them implement, just e-mail your suggestion(s) at info@tshirtmonster.ca
For example, you might have an idea on how to improve their product Design Lab.

Being a Canadian website, I like that T-Shirt Monster is a great alternative for my Canadian customers even though it could use several improvements. However, if enough of you write in with your great ideas, I'm sure TSM will make several of those in the coming months when they finally re-launch their site. And you can all say, "Hey! They used my idea!"

If you want, you can also post a comment to this post, telling me what improvements and/or additions you would like to see and I would be happy to pass it on to TSM.

So how about it Monster members? What changes would you make to T-Shirt Monster?

Associate Art Exhibit: Charming Critters by Tanya Bond

This is a new feature I am starting today that will feature a fellow designer's works that I admire. There is no schedule, only when I get around to it.

Visit Tanya Bond's Store

Tanya Bond is a gifted artist who operates out of Ireland. The subjects of her art are mostly cute, little, furry creatures such as squirrels, mice, kittens, puppies, bunnies, etc. She does dabble with an occasional mythical creature also, such as a faerie or mermaid.

Tanya is self taught and works mainly in oil pastels. She also creates one-of-a-kind jewelry. Her style of painting is very lush and vibrant, using rich colours and an eye for detail. There are also a lot of whimsical qualities to her work that make it stand out from the crowd.

She truly creates some beautiful art and now you can own a part of it.

Visit Tanya's store where you can purchase several items of apparel and merchandise featuring her art and designs. You can see a sample of the available products in the flash panel below. Be sure to visit the store for the complete collection.

Note: Clicking on any product or text link(s) and making a purchase enables me to receive a referral fee in return for the promotion of fellow designers at no extra cost to you. Enjoy :)
